Some of you might have noticed that I blew up all my social media outlets last week with pictures and posts about my new LuxeWise jewelry. I can’t help it, I am just so excited about this new line of capsule wardrobe friendly accessories that my #unicornfriend Camie collaborated with Scooples Jewelry to create. This past Friday LuxeWise added an online shop to their website where we can all shop all the time. And trust me you will want to. I already warned my husband that my spending money will go towards this collection starting ASAP. Besides the fact that the jewelry is just straight up cute, it's also mega versatile. I hate spending money on anything that I can't wear in multiple ways don't you? This line is made up of mixed metals and textures so you can mix and match it with those pieces that you already have and love at home. It's a touch of glam, edgy, and natural. I am seriously obsessed (clearly, look how carried away I got on instagram over just one set of earrings).
I don’t usually write entire blog posts about products or companies, so what’s up with this? I want to take this moment to really share with you why I love this small business because my reasons are more than skin deep. I’ve had the joy of being real life friends with Camie (founder and owner of LuxeWise) for….oh geez almost ten years (that can’t be right…is that right?!). She is a tender tender heart, HILARIOUS, creative, worshipper, fellow momma and gifted with a great eye for aesthetic. I remember the first time she told me about her idea for a blog. She found that she loved learning about how to highlight outer beauty while embracing inner beauty. Most women get really stressed out about the very same thing. Most of us out here are like “Dude, I’ve been using a $3 bulk pack of foam eye shadow applicators since 7th grade…and now you’re telling me to use a brush?! I can’t…it’s too hard.” (This maaaaayyyy be a real life dilemma for a certain blogger who is having a real hard time throwing out said dirty foam applicators…change is hard!) Cam told me, “I love learning about all this stuff, taking the information, figuring out what’s actually useful and then helping women use it. But I can’t call every girl I know all the time, if I had one place online to share then I could be way more effective.”
And she did it y’all.
She probably doesn’t remember this conversation and I’m going to guess she might even be getting teary-eyed that I do remember it…because y'all she is for real tender hearted (and as a person who sometimes feels like an ice queen, I LOVE that!). When we had that fateful conversation we were sitting in my living room in Iowa. She and Steve had spent the night and she was doing her makeup sitting on the floor in front of our giant Ikea mirror. I have loved watching her passion and gifting unfold and develop over the past several years. If you follow her you also know what I know—she isn’t in the “pretty” business she is in the business of holistic beauty. She wants to help you feel pretty and confident, but if it’s not from a place of grace and freedom she would stop you in the middle of your beauty regime and share the gospel with you. Her mantra is that all this outer stuff doesn’t matter one bit if the inside of you hasn’t been redeemed and freed from the hopelessness of a life with out Jesus.
Clearly, I think very highly of Mrs. Camie Risinger. Knowing that this lady has an awesome heart and she has got design and style talent to spare, I am literally busting with excitement to get all of you connected to her. It’s always great to support small business and awesome people….but also this jewelry is just the best. I got to try on, touch, take home, and explore the pieces for the new LuxeWise shop and they are just perfect. I don’t have one iota of hesitancy in promoting her. If there is one lady I can get behind, it’s the lady behind LuxeWise.
Perks of a long friendship: embarassing photos. Before there was a bird or any luxe at all, there was Katy and Camie acting a fool. Laugh at our expense and head over to her blog and watch her give me a makeover!
